Three Great Workout Tips

1. Eat something light before any workout– I’m not saying a 4-course meal, but you should most certainly eat something light ONE HOUR prior to a workout. Fruit, oatmeal, cereal, etc. Your body needs the energy, and the food will assist in providing that energy; if you don’t eat, you may feel nauseous, light-headed, or other symptoms (I learned this from experience…please eat before working out)

2. Bring water or a water supplement w you to your workout.– self-explanatory…working out tends to bring about sweat, which can dehydrate you. Water, Gatorade, or some form of vitamin water will quench the beast known as “thirst”.

3. Always stretch BEFORE a workout, and do cool down exercises after your workout– you don’t wanted begin a workout w out warming up your muscles/limbs, so light stretching is extremely important. After your workout session, muscles that you’ve worked need time to “relax”, if you will lol. Therefore, you should make sure to do cool down exercises which will also decrease the heart rate.

My DIY Morning Fitness Routine

I have been reading up on workouts, trying to do different things, and I’ve come to the conclusion that I have to create my own little morning routine. And that’s fine!! As long as I am getting movement in, I will get to where I need to be. Of course, 2-3 days out of my week, I will do another kind of workout that involves cardio and some weight training, as muscle burns fat.

Here is what I plan to do each morning before work:

25 regular crunches
25 reverse crunches
10 pushups
25 jumping jacks
10 lunges
10 squats

(repeat for a total of 3 times)

I completed this routine this morning, and I feel refreshed. I need to be more committed to keeping my body mean and lean, because it’s so important to be healthy! I have reasonable activity of my limbs, so before I lose them, I will use them!

Have at it!
